Building and leading the people operations function, the full-time remote People and Business Operations Manager will oversee U.S. employment compliance, performance management, and compensation administration while supporting the company's growth across Canada and the U.S. Key responsibilities Manage state-by-state compliance for U.S. employment, including tax registration and payroll setup Design and execute performance management cycles and maintain levelling frameworks across the organization Oversee compensation administration, including salary bands and variable/commission plans, ensuring alignment with business goals Required qualifications 5+ years of experience in people operations or HR, with a background in scaling companies from 50-300+ employees Hands-on experience with U.S. state-level employment compliance and HRIS systems, preferably Rippling Proven track record in designing performance cycles, levelling frameworks, and compensation structures Deep knowledge of U.S. state employment law and its variations by jurisdiction Based in Canada, ideally the Greater Toronto Area
