Description

At Northrop Grumman, our employees have incredible opportunities to work on revolutionary systems that impact people's lives around the world today, and for generations to come. Our pioneering and inventive spirit has enabled us to be at the forefront of many technological advancements in our nation's history - from the first flight across the Atlantic Ocean, to stealth bombers, to landing on the moon. We look for people who have bold new ideas, courage and a pioneering spirit to join forces to invent the future, and have fun along the way. Our culture thrives on intellectual curiosity, cognitive diversity and bringing your whole self to work — and we have an insatiable drive to do what others think is impossible. Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.

Northrop Grumman Mission System’s Engineering and Sciences (E&S) Baltimore and Partnered Sites (BaPs) Division is seeking a Staff CORE Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals and will require 100% on-site work.

What You’ll get to Do:

As a senior member of the Foundational Systems Engineering Team, you will provide technical leadership to programs that transform concepts into fielded systems, driving cross discipline integration and balancing innovative and traditional implementations of systems thinking. You will lead major development efforts for sensors on current and next generation air and sea platforms for various programs.

  • Lead the application and continuous improvement of systems engineering processes to develop solutions that meet and anticipate customer requirements.

  • Own requirements management, including decomposition, allocation, verification, and validation, and ensure traceability across the system lifecycle.

  • Lead the preparation, execution, and closure of major system design reviews (e.g., PDR, CDR, SVR, TRR, PCAs, FCAs), including technical issue resolution and risk retirement.

  • Provide technical direction to cross functional product teams across multiple disciplines and domains to drive design compliance and integration.

  • Serve as the technical authority to ensure system compliance with the program Statement of Work (SOW) and system requirements, identifying and resolving gaps and risks proactively.

This position is contingent on contract award, the successful transfer of an active U.S Government Secret clearance and the ability to obtain Special Program Access.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 12 years of experience, a Master's degree with 10 years of experience, or a PhD with 8 years of experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or other related technical fields; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • U.S Citizenship is required.

  • A current/active U.S Government Secret Clearance.

  • Ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP).

  • Experience in systems engineering, preferably in the aerospace or defense industries.

  • Experience with system engineering design methods, including requirements analysis and flow-down, specification derivation, functional decomposition, and interface control documentation.

  • Experience participating in major systems reviews, including SRR, SFR, PDR, CDR, etc.

  • Experience working through the systems engineering process.

  • Proficient with systems engineering tools such as DOORS, CAMEO, MATLAB, or comparable software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degrees in Science, Technology, Engineer, or Mathematics or other related technical fields.

  • Active U.S Government Top Secret Clearance or higher with SAP Access and or SCI eligibility.

  • Architecture, CONOPS, and use case development using model-based systems engineering (MBSE) methodologies.

  • Experience effectively communicating and presenting complex technical concepts to project, program, and company management, other technical managers, and customers.

  • Experience supporting an agile development team.
