Job Title Assistant Professor – Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Position Summary The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Kansas Medical Center seeks a physiatrist for a full‑time faculty position with expertise and interest in inpatient rehabilitation at a community‑based facility. The appointment will be made at the level of Assistant, Associate, or Professor (tenure or non‑tenure track) according to experience. Faculty members are expected to play an active role in the integrated residency program in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, contributing to the academic and professional development of the medical community. Job Duties Medical management of rehabilitation needs for patients during inpatient rehabilitation, including medically complex, neurologic, and orthopedic diagnoses Collaborate with referring services and other departments to ensure transitions across the continuum of care Establish a community‑based consultation service at other sites as appropriate Provide care in ambulatory clinics for general and/or neurologic physiatry patients Lecturer to Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residents and students Attend Grand Rounds as scheduled Required Qualifications Education: MD or DO in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Board Certified or Board Eligible in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Experience with medical management of rehabilitation needs for patients during inpatient rehabilitation, including medically complex, neurologic, or orthopedic diagnoses Preferred Qualifications Inpatient rehabilitation experience Required Documents Resume Cover Letter Additional Documentation If selected as a final candidate, you may be required to complete the Association of American Universities Representations and Warranties document and sign a release of records allowing the University of Kansas Medical Center to conduct a background check with former employers.
