Company Description Lake Norman Charter School is the largest 5–12 grade charter school in North Carolina, located in Huntersville and founded in 1998. Admission is application-based and determined through a lottery process, reflecting a strong demand from families. The high school offers a comprehensive college and university preparatory curriculum aligned with NC College/Career Ready requirements, including Standard, Honors, and Advanced Placement courses. Role Description This is a full-time, on-site High School Social Studies Teacher role located in Huntersville, NC. The teacher will plan, prepare, and deliver engaging instruction in Social Studies courses, which may include World History and related subjects, aligned with school and state standards. Daily responsibilities include designing and implementing curricula, assessing student learning through formative and summative assessments, and providing timely, constructive feedback. The teacher will maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment, support diverse learning needs, and integrate leadership and service-learning opportunities into lessons where appropriate. Additional duties include collaborating with colleagues and families, participating in professional development, and contributing to school-wide initiatives and student activities. Qualifications Strong subject-matter expertise in Social Studies and World History, with the ability to teach a range of high school social studies courses. Curriculum Development and Education skills to design standards-aligned lessons, units, and assessments that support college and career readiness. Effective Communication skills for interacting with students, families, and colleagues, including clear instruction and professional collaboration. Relevant bachelor’s degree in Education, History, Social Studies, or a related field; advanced degree is a plus. Valid or eligible North Carolina teaching license in Social Studies (or equivalent state certification with reciprocity). Demonstrated ability to create an inclusive, culturally responsive classroom and support diverse learners. Proficiency with educational technology and digital resources to enhance instruction and student engagement.
