Job descriptionThe Surveyor in Training (SIT) will be responsible for drafting survey documents, preparing maps and plats, and integrating field data into CAD or GIS software. This role is essential for supporting land surveying projects and ensuring accuracy in deliverables. Create detailed survey drawings, plats, and maps using AutoCAD Civil 3D or related software. Process field survey data to generate precise topographic and boundary maps. Collaborate with surveyors and engineers to meet project specifications. Review and analyze legal descriptions, deeds, and survey field notes. Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Manage multiple projects while adhering to deadlines. Mentor junior drafters or survey technicians when necessary. Bachelor’s or associate degree in surveying, geomatics, or a related field (preferred). SIT certification or equivalent, registration or in-pursuit (preferred) Minimum 5 years of experience in land survey drafting using AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar software (preferred). Proficiency in boundary, topographic, and construction surveying principles, including A.L.T.A. and commercial A.L.T.A. surveys with title review experience. Strong ability to interpret engineering plans, legal descriptions, and survey data. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Detail-oriented and able to work independently or as part of a team. Pay : $20.00 – $35.00 per hour, depending on experience (DOE) After 60 days : Medical, Vision, Dental, and Company-paid basic life insurance.
