Compass Healthcare Consulting & Placement is conducting a search for an experienced RN, Registered Nurse, Director of Nursing for Assisted Living Residence, located in a beautiful Senior Living Community in the Bronx, NY.
Qualified candidates will have prior Director or Associate Director level experience within Assisted Living, Home Health Care, Nursing Home or Hospital setting. RN Director of Nursing will have extensive knowledge of Clinical Operations, Policy & Procedure, Quality & Compliance, Staff Development, Education, Orientation & Training. The Director of Nursing will have knowledge in Medicaid Assisted Living, Private Pay Assisted Living and will excel in Clinical leadership and mentorship for all levels of staff.
The RN Director of Nursing plays a vital role in creating a safe, resident-centered environment that supports dignity, quality outcomes, and excellence in care. This includes managing nursing staff, developing individualized care plans, fostering interdepartmental collaboration, and ensuring exceptional communication with residents, families, physicians, and regulatory bodies.
Key Responsibilities :
- Oversee all clinical care and health-related services within the Assisted Living Residences and related programs in the Senior Community including Adult Home, Enriched Housing Program, Enhanced Assisted Living Residence, and Special Needs Assisted Living Residence.
- Ensure full compliance with NYS DOH regulations and internal policies.
- Develop and implement individualized service plans (ISPs) in collaboration with Case Managers and the Administrator / EHP Coordinator.
- Lead and evaluate nursing staff; supervise Home Health Aides (HHAs) assigned to medication management and personal care.
- In collaboration with assigned Supervisors, conduct initial and periodic resident assessments and reassessments (at least every 6 months or as needed).
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation, statistical data, and quality assurance reports.
- Participate in the development, evaluation, revision and implementation of clinical policies and procedures.
- Serve as a liaison between residents, families, interdisciplinary teams, and external healthcare providers.
- Manage emergencies and clinical interventions across all care units.
Qualifications :
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State (required)Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred; equivalent education and experience consideredAdvanced training in nursing leadership a plusMinimum 5–7 years of clinical experience in long-term care or assisted living, including 4+ years in a supervisory or leadership roleStrong knowledge of NYS Assisted Living and Adult Care Facility regulationsProven leadership, communication, and organizational skillsExceptional clinical assessment and care planning abilitiesStrong communication and leadership skillsCustomer Service oriented, ability to communicate professionally with patients and familiesProficient in Microsoft Office and electronic health record documentationPosition is Monday - Friday, Some Weekends & On-Call Responsibility - Day Shift
