Program Coordinator

Join Puget Sound Educational Service District (PSESD) in creating just, humanizing educational communities where every student thrives. PSESD is launching a regional Grow Your Own (GYO) Hub to align and strengthen programs that recruit, develop, and retain paraeducators pursuing teacher certification. The Hub has created specialized pathways for paraeducators in programs that offer culturally responsive pathways that value lived and work experience. Coordinator, Program position is crucial in supporting participants in receiving individualized advising, mentorship, and technical services. The coordinator, program will split time between PSESD, colleges, and districts, ensuring both regional coordination and strong community relationships. Candidate will also set up and plan recruiting and onboarding of candidates, from hosting information sessions, to supporting the application and interview process. Program Coordinator will connect with students to offer monthly email communications, academic support, and host quarterly candidate gatherings. This position will also support connecting the college learning with the on-the-job experiences of the paraeducators. PSESD is one of nine regional educational agencies serving school districts and state approved charter and private schools in Washington. Serving over 39% of Washington's K-12 public school students, our agency provides critical services designed to ensure that our students are ready to enter school, achieve high levels in the K-12 system, and succeed in postsecondary endeavors. Essential Functions:

  • Collaborates with others for the purpose of sharing expertise and resources, resolving issues, implementing, and maintaining services and programs.
  • Coordinates with external customers for the purpose of developing programs, resolving issues, and maintaining services.
  • Coordinates a variety of on-site and off-site events, assessments, workshops, trainings, courses, etc. for the purpose of ensuring necessary department/program outcomes are achieved.
  • Maintains a variety of manual and electronic documents, files, and records for the purpose of providing up-to-date reference and audit trail for compliance with district, local, state, and federal regulations.
  • May oversee the work of other staff for the purpose of ensuring program objectives are met within budget.
  • Monitors program components (e.g., procedures and processes, communications, training needs, data, RFP process, grants, contracts for services, events, budgets, and expenditures, etc.) for the purpose of coordinating activities and ensuring compliance with established financial, legal and/or administrative requirements.
  • Participates in meetings, workshops, trainings, committees, etc. for the purpose of receiving, conveying, and/or gathering information required to perform functions.
  • Prepares a wide variety of written materials for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference and/or conveying information.
  • Processes documents and materials for the purpose of disseminating information to appropriate parties.
  • Provides training and/or technical assistance in assigned subject area to support the facilitation of action plans and/or the adoption of key strategies for the purpose of ensuring services are delivered in conformance with established guidelines, priorities, and needs.
  • Responds to inquiries for the purpose of resolving problems, providing information and/or referring to appropriate personnel.

Other Functions:

  • Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.

  • Teamwork: Works collaboratively with others to achieve shared goals and make decisions.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Community college and/or vocational school degree in a job-related field; or a High School diploma/GED with progressively responsible job-related experience, or an equivalent industry-specific certification (e.g., Financial Services, Workers' Compensation, or related fields) in lieu of formal education.
  • Experience coordinating programs, services, events, trainings, workshops, or related activities.
  • Experience supporting applicants or participants with program applications or financial assistance.
  • Experience providing customers, participant, candidate, or community-facing support in a program or service environment.
  • Experience maintaining program records, data, expenditure, documentation, and electronic files and monitoring program activities for compliance with established requirements.
  • Experience providing information, technical assistance, or support to program participants and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, resolve routine issues, coordinate multiple activities, and maintain accurate records.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience providing or coordinating wraparound services or connecting participants with community resources.
  • Experience working with populations served by this specific program.
  • Experience working in an educational, public-sector, nonprofit, or community-based program environment.
