Software Engineering Manager
Our software engineering team enables the engineering teams to improve and optimize the engineering processes and infrastructure to deliver great experiences to the engineering organization for building products. This role provides the opportunity to shape the automation strategy for a critical Enterprise Security product used across cloud and on-premises environments. The successful candidate will solve complex quality and scalability challenges, improve release confidence, influence engineering practices, and directly improve the customer experience through smarter and more reliable automation Your Impact
Leads a team of software engineers in the design, development and implementation of products or foundational technology
Typically leads teams working on large features from technical design through completion
Collaborates cross-functionally to ensure technical standards (e.g., potentially with external technology providers, and any internal technology dependencies)
Contributes to and maintains processes and standards (e.g., for design reviews, security, and testing)
Provides feedback and insight into standards and practices while identifying areas for improvement in process, architecture, design, and security
Considers all aspects of security from secure development practices to proper security architecture functionality
Leads large and/or complex projects from requirements to completion
Manages product and/or system level tradeoffs and design decisions to drive quality and consistency; updates team priorities as appropriate
Accountable for quality of product within area of responsibility; makes recommendations to products and services with respect to issues, opportunities and improvements, focusing on quality and performance
Contributes to product roadmap discussions and provide schedules and resource estimates, drives successful project and/or product development
May lead discussions with customers and/or stakeholders to explain solutions, gather feedback, and work with cross functional teams to ensure feedback is reflected in design decisions and deployment
Works multi-functionally to define, drive, and deliver key projects in timely manner (e.g., Product Management, Operations, QA Firmware, Software, Mechanical, Vendors)
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical field and 12+ years of software engineering experience or Master's degree and 10+ years.
4+ years of management experience leading software engineering teams in the design, development and implementation of software engineering products.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with security automation, response workflows, orchestration platforms, case triage, or enterprise security products.
Experience leading customer-facing SaaS or hybrid-cloud services with high expectations for reliability, release quality, supportability, and zero/minimal customer impact.
