Job description

Job Title: Data Engineer (Informatica ETL, PowerCenter, Oracle)-12+ years of exp

Location: Austin, Tx (Hybrid)

We are currently seeking candidates who meet the following qualifications:

Required Qualifications

  • Experience as a Data Engineer / Systems Analyst designing, developing, and supporting data integration solutions in an enterprise environment.
  • Hands-on experience developing and maintaining ETL workflows using Informatica PowerCenter, including mappings, sessions, workflows, and reusable transformations.
  • Experience ingesting data from multiple heterogeneous source systems, including flat files, APIs, relational databases, and mainframe extracts, into Oracle databases.
  • Strong working knowledge of Oracle SQL/PL-SQL, including stored procedures, packages, and performance tuning of ETL-related queries.
  • Experience with Snowflake, including data loading, schema design, and query performance optimization.
  • Experience with Informatica PowerCenter / Informatica Cloud Data Integration for cloud-based ETL/ELT development.
  • Experience gathering data requirements, performing source-to-target mapping, and documenting data flow/design specifications.
  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving data quality issues, job failures, and performance bottlenecks in production ETL pipelines.
  • Experience with job scheduling/orchestration tools, such as Control-M, Autosys, or Informatica Scheduler, supporting batch data loads.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Experience working in structured SDLC environments and collaborating with business and technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SAP Business Objects Universe design and/or maintenance.
  • Experience working in a state government or large enterprise IT environment.
  • Experience following formal SDLC and change management processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understands business objectives and problems, identifies alternative solutions, and performs studies and cost/benefit analysis of alternatives.
  • Analyzes user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or improve existing computer systems.
  • Confers with personnel of organizational units involved to analyze current operational procedures, identify problems, and learn specific input and output requirements, such as forms of data input, how data is to be summarized, and formats for reports.
  • Writes detailed descriptions of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer programs.
  • Reviews computer system capabilities, specifications, and scheduling limitations to determine if requested programs or program changes are possible within existing systems.
  • Design, develop, and support enterprise data integration solutions.
  • Develop and maintain ETL workflows using Informatica PowerCenter, including mappings, sessions, workflows, and reusable transformations.
  • Ingest data from multiple heterogeneous source systems, including flat files, APIs, relational databases, and mainframe extracts, into Oracle databases.
  • Develop and optimize Oracle SQL/PL-SQL, including stored procedures, packages, and ETL-related queries.
  • Work with Snowflake for data loading, schema design, and query performance optimization.
  • Develop cloud-based ETL/ELT solutions using Informatica PowerCenter and Informatica Cloud Data Integration.
  • Gather data requirements, perform source-to-target mapping, and document data flow and design specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data quality issues, job failures, and performance bottlenecks in production ETL pipelines.
  • Support batch data loads using job scheduling and orchestration tools such as Control-M, Autosys, or Informatica Scheduler.
  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders throughout the SDLC.
