Technical Trainer

NorthStar Energy Solutions is seeking a driven Technical Trainer to join our Training team. In this role, you will do more than teach skills you will build confidence, elevate performance, and develop skilled lineworkers who represent NorthStar with pride in the field. You will deliver hands-on field and classroom instruction for apprentice and journey-level lineworkers, uphold the integrity of our training standards, and serve as a mentor who inspires trainees to grow and succeed in their craft.

Responsibilities include conducting field and classroom training for apprentice and journey-level lineworkers, preparing, updating, and maintaining training materials and curriculum to support knowledge and skill development, identifying training gaps and recommending innovative approaches to enhance the learning experience, evaluating trainee performance against program objectives and providing feedback to leadership, maintaining a working knowledge of all training programs and staying current on industry best practices and regulations, collaborating with leadership and safety teams on the continuous improvement of training programs, serving as a mentor by encouraging and inspiring trainees and co-workers, upholding the integrity of company training standards, curriculum, and expectations, traveling as needed to support training across company job sites and locations, and committing to advancing through the company's Training Specialist progression program and completing any additional required training or certifications.

Qualifications include a passion for training, with the ability to teach effectively to audiences with varying levels of expertise, strong communication, mentorship, and leadership skills, working knowledge of OSHA, NESC, and other industry safety regulations, working knowledge of educational theory and industry best practices in training delivery, proficiency with computers and the ability to learn new software and training systems quickly, physical ability to work in a classroom or field setting, including standing or sitting for extended periods, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 65 lbs, stamina to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions and noise, journey-level Lineworker certificate required, bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent training/instructional experience, preferred, training experience with craftworkers or safety-professional audiences, from pre-apprentice to journey-level, preferred, ability to travel as needed to support training at company job sites and locations, and to relocate if required by the assigned location or territory, journeyman lineman license or certification required, certification in climbing, CPR, and First Aid required, OSHA 10/30-Hour certification or OSHA-authorized trainer status is a plus.
