Cooking Specialty InstructorThe Twin Lakes Family YMCA in Cedar Park, TX is now accepting applications for energetic, dependable and engaging individuals to work as a Cooking Specialty Instructor in our ChildWatch Department. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who love working with kids and are passionate about sharing their love for cooking in a fun, fast-paced, and family-oriented environment.We are offering $260 bonus for new staff!As a Cooking Specialty Instructor, you will lead interactive, age-appropriate cooking classes for children ages 4 through adult. You'll foster creativity and confidence in the kitchen while creating a welcoming, educational, and hands-on experience for participants. Candidates must be comfortable working with both children and families, and possess strong communication and organizational skills.Key Responsibilities:Lead at least one cooking class per weekPlan and facilitate engaging culinary lessons for a variety of age groupsGreet and assist members and participants with professionalism and enthusiasmProvide outstanding customer service and maintain classroom controlMaintain a clean, safe, and sanitary food prep environmentCollaborate with team members and leadership to ensure high program qualitySupport ChildWatch programming as neededSchedule & Availability:Must be available to teach one class per weekAvailability needed between 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday (day may vary based on availability)Hours may vary depending on class enrollmentPunctuality, reliability, and a positive attitude are essentialQualifications:High School Diploma or GED preferredAt least one year of experience teaching or leading cooking/baking activities preferredMust be at least 17 years old (18+ preferred)Experience working with children (ages 4+)Strong organizational and communication skillsAbility to multitask in a dynamic settingBasic knowledge of food safety and handling preferredMust pass background check, reference checks, sex offender screening, and pre-employment drug screeningBonus Skills (Preferred, not required):Ability to also teach or assist with sewing, crafts, or painting to support specialty programsCompensation & Perks:Competitive hourly pay$260 sign-on bonus for new hiresOpportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and familiesSupportive, inclusive, and collaborative work environmentPay Rate: $15.00 to $19.00/hourAbout Us: We are a not-for-profit services Association focusing on mission driven initiatives, with a vision of building strong kids, strong families and strong communities throughout 7 Texas Counties.
