OPS Dental Assistant - 64964492

This position is assigned to the Public Health Services Manager B- SES to perform chair-side assistance to the dentist. This position requires close interaction between patients, the dentist, and other dental staff. The ability to communicate effectively and maintain professionalism and confidentiality are key components of this position. The assistant must be competent in assisting with preventive, therapeutic and surgical clinical procedures (i.e. dental prophylaxis, dental sealants, dental restorations, and dental extractions). The assistant may be required to travel between Dental offices (Orange City and Daytona Beach).

Degree/License/Certification: Must have a High School Diploma or its equivalent. Expanded Functions Dental Assistant or Certified Dental Assistant, Radiology Certificate, Certification in Basic Life Support.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to assist in patient care and ensure/maintain patient safety at all times. Ability to prepare, sterilizes, and maintains dental instruments and equipment. Skilled in placing dental sealants, assisting dentist and skilled in working independently.

Qualifications: Minimum - Must be willing to physically come in the office to perform the duties & responsibilities of the positions Must have current authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship Must have a Florida Expanded Functions Dental Assistant Certificate or Certified Dental Assistant Certificate Must have a Florida Dental Radiography Certificate Must have a certification in Basic Life Support Must be able to work as a team with others Preferred - Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Requires an understanding of the dental operations, understand compliance and quality requirements related to the provision of dental care services and demonstrated success working with the dentist.
