Bus Aide (Student With Health Care Needs)Boone County Schools is seeking a compassionate and dependable Bus Aide to support a student with identified health care needs during daily transportation to and from Madison Elementary School. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, well-being, and comfort of a student while riding the school bus.Position Details:Assignment: Madison Elementary School Bus Route and After School AideSchedule: Monday-Wednesday 1 Hour per dayDaily Rate + Compensation for Bus Route: $25 per day for assigned bus routeEmployment Type: Service Personnel (part-time)Primary Responsibilities:Provide direct supervision and assistance to a student with documented health care needs during transportation.Implement health care procedures as outlined in the student's care plan (training provided as required).Assist the student with safe boarding and exiting of the bus.Monitor and respond appropriately to medical or behavioral concerns while in transit.Maintain effective communication with the bus driver, school nurse, and administration.Ensure confidentiality and uphold student dignity at all times.Minimum Qualifications:High school diploma or GED required.Meet county and state service personnel employment standards.Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children, particularly those with special or health care needs.Ability to follow written health care plans and safety protocols.Completion of required training, including: CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). Any additional health-related training as required by the student's needs.Satisfactory criminal background check and drug screening as required by WV Code.Preferred Qualifications:Experience working with students with medical or special needs.Prior experience in a school or transportation setting.Strong communication and teamwork skills.Disclaimer: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
