You'll be accountable for schedule and technical quality of challenging engineering tasks, as you gain familiarity with the client's expectations, scope, budget and schedule. You may also provide on-site assistance during startup, coordinating work activities with other staff members and the discipline lead. Your multi-discipline, highly interactive team will successfully deliver on the design, development, application, evaluation, recommendation, and specification of engineered systems and products for building HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection Systems. Candidates will work from Jacob's office 2-3 days a week, with the option of working from home or the office on other days. There may be opportunities to visit client sites depending on project needs.General tasks performed:Performs and properly documents/annotates engineering calculationsDevelops drawings for equipment layouts and facility systems and interconnectsSelects equipment using standard sizing guidelines and specificationsDevelops clear understanding and documents scope, schedule, and deliverablesDevelops communication and presentation skills, coordinates information flow within design team and across the disciplinesAssists with project delivery tasks including client issue tracking, change control, and responding to contractor questions and equipment submittalsHere's what you'll need:Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, or closely related majorAbility to report a minimum of twice per week to the local officeVisa Sponsorship is not available for this roleIdeally you will also have:Engineer in Training (EIT) or in progressWorking knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit or other 3D modeling softwareStrong written and verbal communication skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsForward thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideasDisplayed ability to learn quickly and driven to broaden knowledge baseAbility to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary and international teamsDemonstrated ability to plan and organize own work and activities of others to successfully meet project deadlinesPassion for buildings and construction, prior construction or facility design experience preferredThe base salary range for this position is $62,500.00 to $95,000.00.
