Our client is a well-established, independent California accounting firm seeking a Trust & Estate Tax Manager to serve as its next trust and estate authority. Their reputation draws steady referrals for complex estate work from attorneys and fiduciaries, more than they can currently staff. This is a practice to build. Fully remote, with a real track record of promoting remote staff into leadership. Responsibilities Prepare and review fiduciary and estate returns (Forms 1041, 706, and 709) alongside complex individual returns for high-net-worth clients Interpret trust agreements and estate planning documents, including grantor trust structures and multi-generational planning Advise clients and their attorneys, fiduciaries, and financial advisors on estate, gift, and trust tax strategies Research complex technical issues and monitor changes in estate and trust tax law Manage engagement workflow, staffing, and deadlines for the estate and trust practice Mentor and train junior staff to build estate and trust technical capability across the team Serve as a primary client contact and build long-term client relationships Qualifications Seven to ten years of public accounting experience concentrated in estate, gift, trust, and fiduciary taxation Strong technical command of trust and estate tax law, including grantor trust rules Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Taxation, or related field Active CPA required Proven ability to manage engagements and develop staff Comfortable working effectively as part of a remote team Compensation $135,000-$190,000 (DOE) #J-18808-Ljbffr
