Shipping ClerkThis role focuses on supporting shipping, receiving, and general warehouse operations by sorting and labeling boxes, loading and unloading trucks, organizing products, and maintaining a clean and safe work area in a production environment.ResponsibilitiesSort and label boxes accurately to ensure correct identification and shipment of products.Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently, following proper material handling procedures.Organize products in the warehouse to maintain clear, logical inventory placement and easy access for picking and packing.Perform general labor tasks to support production and warehouse operations as needed.Assist with packaging and packing of small consumer products in a production environment.Use RF scanners and other warehouse equipment to pick, scan, and track orders and inventory.Support order picking, material handling, and inventory-related tasks to keep stock levels accurate.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following established housekeeping and safety guidelines.Follow instructions from the production lead and warehouse supervisor and complete other duties as assigned to support daily operations.Essential SkillsExperience performing general labor tasks in a warehouse, production, or manufacturing environment.Working in a small consumer packaging environment.Previous experience in production and/or manufacturing operations.Ability to load and unload trucks and handle materials safely and efficiently.Proficiency with packaging, packing, and filling tasks for consumer products.Experience with inventory handling, picking, and order picking in a warehouse setting.Ability to use RF scanners and other scanning equipment for picking and inventory tracking.Effective communication skills to follow instructions and work collaboratively with team members.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with warehouse packing and packaging processes.Familiarity with scanner-based picking and order fulfillment workflows.Comfort working in a fast-paced production and warehouse environment.Ability to stay organized and detail-oriented while handling multiple tasks.Why Work Here?Join a collaborative production and warehouse environment where reliability, safety, and teamwork are valued. The standard schedule runs from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with occasional Saturday work as needed. You will work around trucks, shelving, and material handling equipment while performing loading, unloading, picking, packing, and scanning tasks. The environment requires adherence to safety practices, organized work habits, and appropriate work attire suitable for a warehouse and production floor.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Metairie, LA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
