FTR Shipping & Receiving ClerkMain Plant - San Jose, CA 95112OverviewSalary Range $18.45 - $20.00 HourlyDescriptionJob ResponsibilitiesMajor Responsibilities:Receives incoming materials, products and supplies. Counts items received and checks against packing lists and notes any discrepanciesAccepts incoming material properly in the computer inventory management system.Organize and store in an efficient manner all material coming into the warehouse in accordance with established procedures.Organize the warehouse area as best as possible. If problems arise, notify the appropriate person.Monitor and direct the movement of materials to ensure that all internal, external customer needs are met. Coordinate movement and receipt of inventory between the stores and HQ.Coordinate and ship inventory to the stores as requested, ensure all shipments are properly documented and perform necessary transactions on the computer system to keep accurate site by site inventory quantities.Reconcile receipt and maintain an audit trail of salvage inventory pallets from Target delivered to stores and HQ.Maintain log of movement of salvage inventory pallets between HQ and Stores.Daily fulfillment of orders via internal transportation department, UPS, FedEx, LTL and other modes of transportation when applicableInsure accurate and timely preparation of orders for fulfillmentAs computer technology is integrated into the company, help keep track of inventory using the automated systemInvestigates and communicates the root cause of any inventory discrepanciesMaintain accurate inventory counts using a computer system.Create new product inventory parts on the Great Plains ERP system as requested by retail.Ability to work with management and individuals as part of a teamKnowledge of or ability to learn how to drive forklifts and unload trucksMake sure safe work practices are followedPerform periodic inventory audits in the stores.Do various tasks necessary to ensure the department works efficiently.QualificationsRequirementsHigh School Diploma or equivalentPrevious experience in shipping and receiving a plusValid California Driver's License and clean DMV recordPreferred QualificationsBilingual English/Spanish desired.Equipment UsedComputer, telephone switchboard equipment, copy and FAX machines, pallet jack, forkliftAptitudes/skills/temperamentAbility to perceive pertinent details in objects or in pictorial or graphic material: to make visual comparisons and discriminations and see slight differences in shapes, shading of figures and width and lengths of lines.General learning ability.The ability to "catch on" or understand instructions and their underlying principles.The ability to reason and make judgments.Ability to lift 70 poundsAbility to perform arithmetic operations quickly and accurately.Being able to deal with people beyond giving and receiving instructions.Have a strong work ethic.Must be detail oriented.Being respectful of and conform with set limits, tolerances and standards.Ability to move fingers and manipulate small objects with fingers rapidly and/or precisely.Ability to move eyes, hands and fingers rapidly, accurately and precisely.Working conditionsWork is performed in a large, enclosed warehouse with an even concrete floor surface. The area is heated and has natural ventilation. The temperature will fluctuate depending on locations within the department.Dust and dirt are controlled by daily cleaning of the work area. Some items may be soiled/dirty or broken. These are either cleaned or disposed of following established procedures. A variety of household cleaning products are used. Work is completed independently but in cooperation with the whole department.The noise volume is moderately high throughout the day, depending on the activity, equipment in operation, radio operation, and television testing.Material handling equipment (forklift, hand truck, moveable containers) may be operated in or near work areas.Emotional EffortModerate: Occasional short deadlines.
