Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and patient-focused Phlebotomist I (PSR I) to join our healthcare team in Tiffin, OH. The Patient Services Representative I serves as the face of the organization, interacting directly with patients and ensuring a positive and professional experience throughout the specimen collection process. This role is responsible for performing blood draws, specimen processing, and maintaining accurate patient records while adhering to established procedures and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Collect blood specimens from patients using proper phlebotomy techniques.
Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing according to established protocols.
Explain collection procedures to patients and create an atmosphere of trust and confidence.
Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing duties accurately and safely.
Ensure all patient information and specimen data are documented accurately and confidentially.
Maintain required records, reports, and documentation.
Follow all safety, quality, and compliance standards.
Perform daily activities accurately and within established timelines under the direction of the Area Supervisor.
Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment.
Demonstrate strong customer service and organizational commitment.
Promote a positive image of the organization to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience required.
Strong specimen collection and processing skills.
Keyboarding and data entry experience required.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to produce quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
1+ years of phlebotomy experience preferred.
Experience with pediatric and geriatric blood collection.
Medical Assistant, Paramedic, or related medical training preferred.
Phlebotomy Certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
Prior customer service experience in a healthcare, retail, or service environment.
Additional Requirements
Must be flexible with scheduling based on business and staffing needs.
Willingness to work weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime as required.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient confidentiality.
Ability to demonstrate professionalism, accuracy, and compassion in all patient interactions.
