Accounting Operations Support SpecialistThe Accounting Operations Support Specialist supports the day-to-day accounting operations of the Credit Union by processing financial transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, and supporting operational accounting activities. This role partners with internal teams to ensure transactions are processed accurately, financial information is recorded appropriately, and accounting processes support efficient day-to-day operations.Responsibilities:Prepares and records accounting entries to support member transactions, wire activity, and other operational accounting functionsProcesses and reconciles wire transactions related to loan disbursementsProcesses and maintains documentation for corporate check, money order, and other payment-related activitiesEnsures accurate documentation supporting accounting transactions and operational requirementsReconciles assigned general ledger, in-house, and balance sheet accounts and researches discrepancies as neededReconciles cash settlements from third-party processors to ensure amounts settled to the general ledger align with transactions posted to member accountsSupports accounting operations, including ACH processing, check processing, and accounts payable activities as neededParticipates in special projects, process improvements, and other accounting initiatives as assignedProcesses Team Member, board, and other reimbursement entriesMinimum Required Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent1+ year of experience supporting accounting operations, bookkeeping, financial recordkeeping, reconciliations, transaction processing, and/or relevant transferable experiencePreferred Qualifications:Degree or specialized training in accounting, business, or related field2+ years of experience supporting accounting operations, reconciliations, financial reporting, and transaction processingExperience working in a credit union, banking, financial services, or other highly regulated environmentKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):Knowledge of basic accounting principles, financial transactions, reconciliations, and general ledger processesKnowledge of applicable laws, regulations, policies, and operational standards related to financial transactions and recordkeepingSkilled in Microsoft Office applications and accounting systems used to support financial operationsAbility to maintain accuracy and attention to detail while managing routine financial and transactional activitiesAbility to evaluate accounting discrepancies, determine appropriate actions, and escalate concerns when necessaryAbility to organize work, manage multiple priorities, and meet established deadlinesAbility to communicate effectively through verbal, written, and electronic communicationAbility to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretionAbility to identify operational issues and recommend process improvements that support efficient accounting operationsWork Environment:Hybrid work environment (combination of remote & onsite); requires regular use of online tools, systems, and collaboration platformsGeneral office setting when working onsitePhysical Abilities:Ability to work at a computer in a stationary position for up to 8 hours per dayAbility to occasionally carry light materials (e.g., laptop, presentation materials)Together Credit Union is an Equal Opportunity employer.
