Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Contingent Council Program Manager to support an executive-level clinical vendor governance and review council.

This role requires a highly organized program leader who can coordinate complex vendor reviews, facilitate executive governance meetings, synthesize multidisciplinary findings, manage action items, and drive decisions through completion.

The ideal candidate will bring experience within healthcare, managed care, health plans, clinical vendor management, or provider organizations, combined with working knowledge of contracting, medical policy, utilization management, network operations, and vendor performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate the end-to-end clinical vendor review and governance process.
  • Prepare for, facilitate, and document executive-level council and decision-making meetings.
  • Develop meeting agendas, executive presentations, decision materials, summaries, and recommendations.
  • Consolidate complex clinical, contractual, operational, financial, and vendor-related information into concise executive-level materials.
  • Maintain action logs, assign and track ownership, monitor deadlines, and drive outstanding items to closure.
  • Coordinate multiple concurrent vendor cases and governance workstreams.
  • Support assessment of vendor-related risks, issues, performance concerns, and contractual considerations.
  • Partner with stakeholders across clinical operations, utilization management, network operations, contracting, compliance, and vendor management.
  • Support discussions involving contract obligations, termination provisions, renegotiation considerations, and contractual restrictions.
  • Incorporate medical policy considerations such as clinical appropriateness, policy alignment, and utilization controls into governance materials.
  • Identify dependencies, escalate blockers, and maintain visibility into outstanding decisions.
  • Develop and maintain governance documentation, meeting records, decision logs, and supporting materials.
  • Drive continuous improvement of governance processes and operating procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in program management, project management, chief of staff, governance, or a related role.
  • Experience directly supporting executive-level governance forums, councils, or decision committees.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare for, facilitate, and document meetings involving senior executives.
  • Working knowledge of contracting concepts, including agreement structures, contractual obligations, termination provisions, renegotiation strategies, and contractual restrictions.
  • Working knowledge of medical policy concepts, including clinical appropriateness, policy alignment, and utilization controls.
  • Experience within clinical vendor management, managed care, health plans, healthcare, or provider organizations.
  • Practical understanding of utilization management, network operations, and vendor performance.
  • Excellent executive-level written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to synthesize complex multidisciplinary findings into clear recommendations and decision materials.
  • Strong ownership of action tracking, stakeholder follow-up, and issue resolution.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities independently.
  • Ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders and maintain accountability to established deadlines.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, and Teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting vendor governance, risk, compliance, or credentialing committees.
  • Experience with healthcare vendor evaluation and governance processes.
  • Experience developing executive presentations, decision briefs, governance documentation, and action tracking.
