Mission: Help people take full control of their Bitcoin, their security, and their future. The Company: The Bitcoin Way is a Bitcoin-only consultancy that helps people take full control of their financial, digital, and jurisdictional sovereignty. We work one-on-one with clients across self-custody, cybersecurity, privacy, and Plan B residency. We are a team of freedom-first Bitcoiners who practice what we preach: self-hosted infrastructure, open source tools, and no third-party dependencies. We operate with radical transparency, high autonomy, and higher standards. We move carefully because our clients' security depends on it. What you'll get Competitive hourly rate, paid in Bitcoin at month-end spot. Performance-based incentives subject to review after 3 months. No health or retirement benefits. Compensation is structured to reflect that. Direct one-on-one impact. Every client you work with walks away more sovereign than when they started. This is not a support queue. These are real relationships with real people protecting real wealth. Work from anywhere. We measure client outcomes and session quality, not hours in a chair. Ongoing learning. You will work alongside a team that lives and breathes Bitcoin security. You will get better here. Serious Bitcoiners. Not corporate Bitcoin-washing. What you'll do Run one-on-one client sessions covering the full self-custody journey: from first setup to long-term maintenance, disaster recovery, and inheritance planning. Explain complex technical concepts in plain language to people who have never touched a command line. Your grandmother should be able to follow your instructions. That is the standard. Troubleshoot live on calls. When something goes wrong mid-session, you stay calm, figure it out, and walk the client through it without making them feel stupid. Build trust. Our clients are securing their life savings based on setups you helped them build. They need to trust you completely. That trust is earned through competence, patience, and genuine care. Stay current on hardware wallets, firmware updates, node software, privacy tools, and security advisories. When the landscape changes, you are ready before the client asks. Document every session. Flag risks. Follow up on open items. Nothing falls through the cracks. Contribute to improving how we do things. Better session flows, better guides, better explanations. If you see a way to make the client experience stronger, say so and help build it. What you bring Deep hands-on knowledge of Bitcoin self-custody. You have built your own setup: hardware wallets, nodes, backup and recovery procedures. Not just read about it. Built it, used it, tested it, recovered from it. Strong opinions on what makes a good self-custody setup and why. You understand the trade-offs between different devices, different custody models, and different approaches to key generation. Exceptional people skills. You are patient with beginners, clear with everyone, and never condescending. You can read when someone is confused and adjust without being asked. You genuinely enjoy teaching. This is not a task you tolerate to get to the technical stuff. Teaching is the job, and you love it. Experience working directly with people: consulting, coaching, tutoring, onboarding, or support. You have done this before and you have examples to prove it. You stay composed under pressure. When a client is stressed about their Bitcoin, you are the calm in the room. You communicate clearly and without jargon. If you cannot explain it simply, you do not understand it well enough. You follow through. If you tell a client you will look into something, you do it. Reliability is non-negotiable. Bitcoin conviction. This is not just a job. Bitcoin is part of your life. Experience with multisig setups. Nice to have A visible profile in the Bitcoin community: X, Nostr, GitHub, writing, podcasts, public speaking. Experience with cybersecurity and privacy tools. Familiarity with jurisdictional sovereignty and Plan B residency concepts. Who you’ll work with Report to the tech team lead and founders. Work alongside a team of consultants who take client security personally. A note on what matters most here. We can teach you our processes. We can get you up to speed on our stack. What we cannot teach is how to make a nervous person feel safe, how to explain something complex without making someone feel small, and how to care about a client's outcome as much as they do. If that comes naturally to you, we want to talk. #J-18808-Ljbffr
