The Center for Veterans Issues is seeking a compassionate, organized, and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to support our Grant and Per Diem (GPD) Housing Program serving homeless veterans. In this critical role, you will provide administrative support to the Director of Transitional Housing Programs while helping ensure program operations, reporting, and services are delivered efficiently and effectively.

What You'll Do
Administrative Support
Manage calendars, schedules, and appointments
Prepare correspondence, reports, and meeting materials
Answer and direct phone calls, emails, and inquiries
Coordinate meetings and maintain administrative records
Grant & Compliance Support
Assist with grant applications, reports, and documentation
Maintain accurate files related to VA and grant compliance
Track reporting deadlines and ensure timely submissions
Support audit preparation and compliance activities
Data & Reporting
Enter, track, and maintain program data
Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting
Maintain confidential veteran participant records
Support program performance tracking and outcome measurement
Program Operations
Coordinate communication between staff, veterans, and community partners
Organize staff meetings, training sessions, and veteran events
Assist with purchasing, invoice tracking, and budget documentation
Provide general office support and administrative assistance
Qualifications
Required
Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Three to five years of administrative support experience
Strong Microsoft Office skills
Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
Ability to pass a criminal background check related to the position
Preferred
Experience supporting grant-funded programs
Experience with compliance documentation and reporting
Project coordination experience
Experience working with diverse populations or nonprofit organizations

Work Environment
This position is based in a group living and office environment serving veterans. Work is primarily sedentary and office-based, with occasional standing, walking, and light lifting up to 15 pounds. Local travel may be required on a limited basis.

Pay Details: $24.00 to $25.00 per hour
