Overview
Environmental Services Group Lead — Description : The primary accountabilities below are intended to describe the general content and requirements of this position and are not intended to be an exhaustive statement of duties.
Leads employees in the assigned work area, assigns daily tasks and project work, balances workload across daily staff, and adjusts for attendance and workload. Monitors progress, ensures employees have necessary supplies and equipment, and maintains uniform guidelines. Performs assigned duties of team members as needed and uses professional cleaning products, equipment, and techniques. Interacts with customers, visitors, students, coworkers, and others in a friendly, helpful, and professional manner. Uses assigned communication device.
Responsibilities
- Leads employees in the assigned work area, assigns daily tasks and project work, balances workload, and leads special projects.
- Performs duties of team members to meet operational needs and performs routine and major cleaning duties including floor care and maintenance.
- Completes tasks independently and participates in ongoing training to maintain professional cleaning skills.
- Shares operational information with team members and attends / participates in team meetings. Uses assigned computer programs, apps and devices to communicate and document work tasks, time and attendance, and training.
- Collects data and provides input for time and attendance, performance management, and corrective actions. May assist with on-the-job training.
- Monitors inventory of supplies and equipment. Receives stocks and distributes supplies. Ensures proper use and storage of supplies and uses resources cost-effectively. Monitors equipment use and performs basic maintenance. Reports issues needing maintenance / repair.
- Uses assigned communication device to read / respond to texts, emails, and service requests. Interacts with customers, visitors, students, coworkers and others in a friendly, helpful and professional manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Ability to lead and train others.Knowledge of commercial cleaning and floor care equipment.Ability to read and write well enough to comprehend written and oral instructions.Physical ability to bend, stoop, kneel, climb stairs and walk significant distances within and between buildings on campus.Interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Ability to use personal computer, cell phone, tablet and other devices.Ability to use Word and Outlook; ability to use other programs / apps necessary to perform duties.Detail oriented.Ability to follow up.Organizational and prioritization skills.Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED preferred, not required.One (1) year of related experience in a commercial, institutional or educational setting required.Previous supervisory experience is preferred.MVRDriving record must meet University underwriting guidelines to drive on University business. Current guidelines : valid US driver's license, at least 21 years old, at least three years of driving experience, and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
Personal : Physical requirements to safely perform duties (lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing stairs, bending / kneeling, walking long distances, working in confined spaces, and extreme temperatures).Compensation and Schedule
Starting Hourly Rate : $15.00 - $18.55 (commensurate with experience and qualifications).Work Schedule : Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including Monday – Friday, 4 : 00 a.m. – 12 : 30 p.m. (subject to change to meet the needs of the University).Additional Details
