Overview
AI Developer (Contract to Hire) – Central Illinois. 2 positions. 6-month contract to hire opportunity.
Responsibilities
Design, build, and deploy scalable applications using generative AI tools and modern development practices.
Develop and implement AI-based solutions to solve business problems, such as call center summarization, data extraction, and process automation.
Rapidly prototype proof-of-concepts to validate ideas before moving to production. Continuously research emerging AI technologies and models to ensure the company remains on the cutting edge.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and integrate AI into business processes.
Participate in code reviews, ensuring security, quality, and performance standards.
Document solutions and share knowledge with team members.
Qualifications
3 years of professional software development experience with strong proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, C#, JavaScript).
Hands-on experience using AI / ML frameworks, APIs, or tools such as OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Gemini, or similar models.
Familiarity with generative AI concepts such as agentic coding, prompt engineering, and large language model integrations.
Ability to build, test, and deploy cloud-based applications.
Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills.
Certifications
Microsoft Certified : Azure AI Engineer Associate
AWS Certified Machine Learning — Specialty
Google Professional Machine Learning Engineer
Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
Microsoft Certified : Azure Solutions Architect
Expert Candidate must be able to effectively communicate in English (written & verbal).
Candidate must have permanent authorization to work in the USA for any employer.
The base range for this contract position is $40 – $70 per hour, depending on experience. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
