Position Summary :
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Maintenance Manager to lead our maintenance team within a high-volume industrial food production facility. This role is responsible for managing all aspects of equipment, facilities, and utilities maintenance, ensuring optimal performance, food safety, regulatory compliance, and minimal downtime. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, leadership, and a continuous improvement mindset to support operational efficiency and product quality.
Key Responsibilities :
Develop and implement preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
Lead and supervise a team of maintenance technicians, electricians, and support staff across shifts.
Oversee installation, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and upgrade of production equipment (e.g., conveyors, packaging machines, mixers, refrigeration systems, etc.).
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, GMP, SQF / BRC) and regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA, FDA, USDA) .
Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to support process optimization and root cause analysis.
Maintain CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to track work orders, inventory, and equipment history.
Manage department budgets, including spare parts inventory, contractor services, and capital expenditures.
Lead and support capital projects including new equipment installation and facility upgrades.
Champion a safety-first culture; conduct safety audits and risk assessments.
Develop training programs to improve technical skills and cross-functional knowledge within the team.
Required Qualifications :
Proven experience in a maintenance leadership role within industrial food processing or a related manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and automation systems used in food production (PLC troubleshooting, pneumatics, hydraulics, refrigeration, etc.).
In-depth understanding of food industry regulations and sanitation practices.
Experience managing CMMS platforms (e.g., SAP, MP2, eMaint).
Excellent problem-solving and team leadership skills.
Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
Preferred Qualifications :
Degree or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent trade certification.
Experience with lean manufacturing, TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), or Six Sigma principles.
Refrigeration certification or knowledge of ammonia systems is a plus.
Project management experience and familiarity with capital improvement projects.
Working Conditions :
Fast-paced, refrigerated production environment.
Must be available for on-call emergencies and occasional weekend / holiday coverage.
