Associate Patient Care Coordinator

Location: WellMed at Mesquite, TX 584
Position Type: Contract Only
Contract Dates: October 2026 – December 2026
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Job Summary

The Associate Patient Care Coordinator will support the daily operations of a busy WellMed medical office by providing excellent patient service, answering incoming calls, greeting patients, and confirming patient appointments. The ideal candidate is friendly, organized, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer and route incoming patient phone calls.

  • Greet patients and provide a welcoming, professional experience.

  • Confirm and verify patient appointments.

  • Assist patients with general questions and requests.

  • Provide excellent customer service to patients, staff, and providers.

  • Communicate appointment information clearly and accurately.

  • Assist with day-to-day administrative and front-office duties as needed.

  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality when handling patient information.

  • Support the medical office team to ensure efficient patient flow and daily operations.

Team Environment

The candidate will work as part of a collaborative healthcare team consisting of:

  • 1 Clinical Assistant (CA)

  • 4 Quality Medical Assistants (QMAs)

  • 2 LVNs

  • 7 Providers

  • 10 Medical Assistants (MAs)

  • 2 Lab Medical Assistants

  • 5 Patient Services Representatives (PSRs)

Required Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of customer service experience.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Professional and patient-focused demeanor.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced medical office environment.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

  • Reliable attendance and ability to work the assigned schedule.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual skills are a plus.

  • Previous medical office or healthcare experience preferred.

  • Experience working directly with patients is highly desirable.

Important: This is a contract-only opportunity expected to run from October 2026 through December 2026.
