EHS Engineer

Location: Milpitas, CA

Salary: $80,000–$85,000 + 5% Bonus
Experience: 1–3 Years

Position Overview

We are seeking an entry-level EHS Engineer to support Environmental, Health & Safety programs within a manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on opportunity for an early-career EHS professional who wants to build broad experience across workplace safety, environmental compliance, training, inspections, and continuous improvement.

The EHS Engineer will work closely with manufacturing, engineering, and operations teams to identify potential hazards, support compliance requirements, and help develop a safe and productive workplace. This is a learning-focused role with exposure to a wide range of EHS responsibilities rather than a highly specialized position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day Environmental, Health & Safety activities across the manufacturing facility.
  • Conduct workplace inspections, safety observations, and hazard assessments to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist with incident investigations, root cause analysis, and development of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support OSHA and other applicable regulatory compliance activities.
  • Maintain and update EHS documentation, records, procedures, and training materials.
  • Assist with OSHA recordkeeping, including OSHA 300/300A/301 documentation.
  • Support employee safety training and communication on EHS policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
  • Partner with manufacturing and engineering teams to identify and mitigate workplace hazards.
  • Assist with emergency preparedness, safety drills, and related programs.
  • Support environmental programs and compliance activities as needed.
  • Participate in safety projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Help promote a strong safety culture throughout the organization.
  • Perform other EHS-related duties and projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in EHS, safety, environmental compliance, or a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong interest in building a career in Environmental, Health & Safety.
  • Hands-on, practical approach to identifying and addressing workplace hazards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to maintain accurate documentation and records.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating closely with manufacturing and engineering teams.
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations and general manufacturing safety practices is preferred.
  • Experience with OSHA 300-series recordkeeping is a plus.

What We Offer

  • Opportunity to develop broad EHS experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on exposure to safety, environmental, compliance, training, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Collaborative environment with opportunities to learn from experienced EHS and manufacturing professionals.
  • Competitive compensation of $80,000–$85,000 plus a 5% annual bonus.
