Data Analyst
Position Summary
The Data Analyst is responsible for supporting daily inventory operations by accurately processing inventory transactions, receiving documentation, maintaining electronic records, and researching inventory discrepancies. This position requires strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to work with large amounts of transactional data.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Inventory Transactions
Enter inventory transactions into Sage 100 accurately and in a timely manner.
Process inventory issuances, transfers, and other approved inventory transactions.
Review and verify supporting documentation before entering transactions.
Research discrepancies, missing information, or incomplete documentation prior to processing.
Maintain accurate and organized inventory transaction records.
Receiving and Inventory Receipts
Process inventory receipts in Sage 100 based on receiving documentation.
Verify quantities and part numbers against receiving documents and supporting paperwork.
Identify discrepancies between physical receipts and system records.
Follow up on missing, incorrect, or incomplete receiving information.
Ensure receiving transactions are accurately documented and processed.
Document Management
Scan completed pick sheets and supporting inventory documentation.
File digital records in the appropriate SharePoint locations.
Maintain organized, complete, and easily accessible electronic records.
Verify that completed paperwork has been properly processed and documented.
Inventory Support
Maintain organized electronic inventory records.
Assist with inventory related data entry and administrative tasks.
Research basic inventory discrepancies and assist in identifying potential root causes.
Follow established inventory procedures, policies, and internal controls.
Communicate inventory discrepancies and concerns to the Inventory Manager or Project Accountant.
Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory activities as needed.
Perform other inventory and administrative duties as assigned.
Key Skills and Qualifications
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Comfortable working with large amounts of transactional data.
Ability to sit and work at a computer for prolonged periods.
Comfortable working with Microsoft Office and SharePoint.
Experience with Sage 100 is preferred.
Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
Ability to research discrepancies and identify the potential root cause of inventory issues.
Ability to work independently while recognizing when an issue needs to be escalated.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
10-Key typing.
Great experience working with Excel.
Previous inventory, accounting, data entry, or administrative experience preferred.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle business records responsibly.
Physical and Work Requirements
Ability to work at a computer and remain seated for extended periods.
10-key typing
Ability to perform repetitive data entry and document processing tasks.
Ability to maintain accuracy and productivity in a detail-oriented environment.
Occasional participation in cycle counts and physical inventory activities may be required.
