Assistant Controller
Our client is a leading manufacturing / distribution organization in the western suburbs looking to add an Assistant Controller to their Accounting team.

ASSISTANT CONTROLLER RESPONSIBILITIES :
- The Assistant Controller will prepare for the audit, including fixed asset / depreciation schedules, accruals, and account reconciliations.
- The Assistant Controller will ensure compliance with US GAAP and nonprofit regulatory requirements.
- Oversee staff and a number of basic accounting functions - AP / AR, bank reconciliation, petty cash, etc.
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
- Month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
- Compile reports to substantiate individual transactions prior to the monthly close process.
- Daily cash management and organizational cash flow forecasts.
- Process financial data and present financial statements and reports and present findings to the Board of Directors.
- Assist wherever possible in strengthening internal communications with staff at all levels.
ASSISTANT CONTROLLER QUALIFICATIONS :
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting / Finance preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant, professional experience
- Non-profit experience
- Advanced Excel
- Strong work ethic and ability to excel in a fast-paced environment.
