Position Overview

High Focus Counseling, LLC is seeking a dedicated Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team, offering remote therapy services focused on trauma recovery. This full-time position provides the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those affected by trauma, while enjoying a flexible work environment designed to promote work-life balance.

About the Organization

At High Focus Counseling, we are a leader in telehealth mental health care, specializing in the treatment of trauma-related disorders such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. Our commitment to creating a safe, supportive space for trauma survivors is reflected in our compassionate approach and evidence-based therapeutic interventions. We understand that healing from trauma is not a linear process and aim to provide holistic care to each of our clients.

Work Environment

This role will be conducted entirely through our telehealth platform, allowing you to deliver care remotely from your chosen location. Our remote work setting fosters autonomy, while also promoting collaboration through virtual team meetings, case consultations, and ongoing professional development initiatives. You will enjoy the convenience of working from home without sacrificing the high-quality collaboration we value.

Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at High Focus Counseling, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting thorough, trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate patients’ trauma histories, strengths, and needs, thereby informing individualized treatment plans.
  • Developing and implementing personalized treatment plans focused on trauma recovery, resilience-building, and overall mental health improvement.
  • Employing evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to assist patients in processing their trauma.
  • Facilitating both individual and group therapy sessions to guide patients in their healing journey and to help them develop effective coping strategies.
  • Collaborating with psychiatrists and a multidisciplinary care team to ensure coordinated and integrated treatment for our clients.
  • Providing immediate crisis intervention and support during trauma-related emergencies, thus safeguarding client well-being.
  • Educating clients and their families about trauma responses, coping mechanisms, and resources available to support their healing process.
  • Maintaining accurate, confidential documentation of therapy sessions and treatment progress in compliance with ethical and legal standards.
  • Engaging in case consultations, team discussions, and professional development activities that emphasize trauma-informed care practices.
  • Staying abreast of the latest research and effective treatment methodologies related to trauma therapy to continually enhance your practice.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our client population primarily consists of individuals grappling with the ramifications of past trauma, including those diagnosed with PTSD, complex trauma, and various dissociative disorders. Many of our clients seek support for symptoms affecting their daily life, including emotional distress, anxiety, and relationship issues. Your expertise will be crucial in helping these individuals navigate their recovery paths and regain control over their lives.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • A Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as an LICSW, LMHC, or LMFT in the state of Washington is required.
  • Strong understanding of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment modalities, with a focus on resilience-building methodologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, exemplifying compassion and a non-judgmental approach in all client interactions.

Preferred Experience

While a minimum of two years of post-licensure experience is preferred, candidates with lesser experience will be considered if they demonstrate a strong commitment to learning and trauma therapy. Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems is an additional advantage, aiding in the seamless documentation and management of patient information.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from $90,000 to $110,000, reflecting the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate. Our comprehensive benefits package includes:

  • Healthcare benefits covering medical, dental, and vision care.
  • A retirement savings plan with employer-matching contributions.
  • Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday pay to promote work-life balance.
  • Professional liability insurance to safeguard against potential claims.
  • Continuing education opportunities and financial support for further professional development.
