About Us

We are a leading healthcare organization with a growing national footprint and $225M in annual revenue. Our mission is to deliver high-quality, accessible, and compassionate care in the communities we serve.

The Role

As SVP Operations, Behavioral Health, you will be the enterprise chief operating executive and P&L owner for our mental health service line. You'll drive revenue growth, EBITDA performance, operational excellence, and market expansion while building a scalable operating model that balances clinical quality with financial discipline.

You'll lead a team of Clinical Operating Directors and enterprise functional leaders while partnering closely with cross-functional teams.

You'll operate in partnership with our VP Clinical Programs, Quality and Outcomes, ensuring clinical governance and operational performance are balanced in every strategic decision.

This is a high-visibility, high-impact executive role with direct exposure to the CEO, Board of Directors, and investors.

What You'll Own

P&L Leadership & Financial Performance

  • Full P&L accountability for the Behavioral Health line: revenue, EBITDA, profitability, and cash flow
  • Drive top-line revenue growth through visit volume expansion, payer mix optimization, and new market launches
  • Deliver EBITDA targets through operational leverage, cost management, and productivity optimization
  • Partner with Finance/FP&A to develop annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and long-range strategic plans

Operational Excellence & Scalability

  • Lead Clinical Operating Directors (state pod leaders) across all markets; set performance standards, monitor KPIs, and hold leaders accountable
  • Drive provider utilization to 85–90%, and capacity efficiency across all pods
  • Oversee patient intake, scheduling, and access to optimize first-appointment wait times, no-show reduction, and revenue capture
  • Build scalable operating infrastructure: technology platforms, process playbooks, performance dashboards, and governance cadences

Market Expansion & Growth Strategy

  • Lead state-by-state pod scaling: assess market attractiveness, regulatory feasibility, payer landscape, and competitive positioning
  • Launch 5+ new state markets over the next 24 months while maintaining clinical quality and financial discipline
  • Identify and execute strategic partnerships with health systems, employer groups, school districts, and payer organizations
  • Monitor competitive landscape; position the organization for market leadership

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Own Revenue Cycle Management (RCM): payer credentialing, claims submission, denial management, cash collection
  • Partner with Technology to prioritize EMR optimization, telehealth platform enhancements, patient-facing digital tools, and AI innovations
  • Collaborate with HR on workforce planning, talent acquisition, onboarding, retention initiatives, and leadership development
  • Work with Marketing to drive patient acquisition, brand positioning, digital campaigns, and referral network development
  • Partner with Payer Contracting to negotiate contracts, optimize reimbursement, and pursue value-based care opportunities

Clinical Integration

  • Collaborate closely with VP Clinical Programs, Quality and Outcomes on joint strategic decisions: clinical program design, quality improvement, training priorities, supervision models
  • Ensure operational initiatives (utilization, growth, efficiency) are balanced with clinical quality, regulatory compliance, and patient safety
  • Make joint decisions on provider hiring, compensation strategy, service expansion, and new market entry

What We're Looking For

Must-Haves:

  • 10+ years of progressive healthcare operations leadership with increasing P&L accountability
  • 5+ years in senior executive roles (VP, SVP, or C-suite) with responsibility for multi-site operations, revenue growth, and EBITDA performance
  • Proven track record of P&L ownership with measurable financial results: revenue growth, EBITDA improvement, operational leverage
  • Experience scaling healthcare organizations through high-growth phases (20%+ annual growth, multi-state expansion, new service line launches)
  • Deep operational expertise in healthcare delivery: scheduling, utilization, RCM, payer contracting, technology platforms
  • Strong financial acumen: ability to build budgets, analyze P&L statements, manage cash flow, and drive profitability
  • Cross-functional leadership: experience leading without direct authority across IT, HR, Finance, Marketing, and Clinical teams
  • Executive presence: ability to influence C-suite peers, board members, investors, and external stakeholders

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Direct experience in mental health, behavioral health, or integrated behavioral health settings
  • Multi-site outpatient or virtual-first healthcare experience (telehealth platforms, distributed care delivery)
  • Value-based care, payer contracting, or population health management expertise
  • MBA, MHA, or equivalent advanced business or healthcare administration degree
  • Dyad leadership experience or familiarity with clinical-operational partnership models
  • M&A, strategic partnerships, or joint venture development experience
  • Background in urgent care, retail healthcare, or high-volume outpatient care delivery

Location & Work Environment

  • Hybrid model : combination of on-site presence at our clinical sites and regular travel to pod markets (NY, NJ, FL, future states)
  • Travel : 30–50% expected for site visits, leadership meetings, payer/partner meetings, and industry conferences

Target Compensation: $200,000-$250,000
