Work Environment

This position is fully remote, enabling you to work from the comfort of home while maintaining communication and collaboration with our team and clients via digital platforms. We utilize advanced electronic health record systems such as AVATAR, which supports efficient documentation and client management.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct initial mental health evaluations and assessments, meticulously documenting clients' histories and treatment progress from the first consultation through discharge.
• Develop customized treatment plans that cater to the unique needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups, aligning with best practice standards.
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, employing evidence-based techniques to promote mental well-being and recovery.
• Regularly monitor and document client progress, adapting intervention strategies as necessary to meet evolving needs.
• Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists and medical staff, to ensure comprehensive care for clients requiring hospitalization or additional support.
• Recognize and address potential barriers to recovery, implementing strategies that empower clients and their families.
• Empower family members and primary caregivers with tools and strategies to help manage clients’ mental and behavioral health challenges effectively.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Mental Health Counselor at Medina Counseling Center, you will work with a varied clientele that includes individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues, as well as those dealing with addiction and their related challenges. Our clients come from diverse backgrounds, reflecting the rich cultural landscape of Babylon, thus making cultural competence an essential aspect of your practice.

Qualifications

• A Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• A current and valid state licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R.
• A successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
• Proficiency in utilizing electronic health record systems, preferably AVATAR, for efficient management of clinical documentation.
• Strong knowledge of physical and mental health comorbidities, alongside experience managing clients with addiction disorders.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, complemented by excellent interpersonal relationships.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of two years of experience in mental health counseling, with demonstrable success in therapeutic interventions.
• Familiarity with the best practice guidelines established by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
• In-depth knowledge of psychotropic medications and their impact on mental health treatment.

Compensation and Benefits

We are proud to offer a competitive salary package ranging from $80,000 to $100,000 annually, with opportunities for a sign-on bonus.
