• The ideal candidate is a technically strong PI System specialist with extensive experience supporting industrial operational technology environments. They should be comfortable managing complex PI System infrastructure, troubleshooting critical data-flow issues, collaborating with business and technical stakeholders, and delivering scalable analytics solutions.
• Candidates with direct upstream oil and gas experience, strong PI System administration skills, and the ability to work independently in a global team environment will be well suited for this position.

Job Summary

Client is seeking an experienced Senior OSI PI / AVEVA Support Analyst to support, maintain, and optimize its AVEVA PI System infrastructure and operational data analytics capabilities for upstream oil and gas operations.

The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with the AVEVA/OSIsoft PI System, including PI Data Archive, Asset Framework (AF), PI Vision, PI Analytics, Event Frames, interfaces, and data integration solutions.

In this role, the analyst will collaborate with global business, engineering, operations, maintenance, and IT teams to ensure reliable real-time data collection, storage, integration, visualization, and analytics. The successful candidate will translate operational data into actionable insights that improve asset reliability, operational efficiency, safety, and business decision-making.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of hands-on experience with the AVEVA/OSIsoft PI System in oil and gas, manufacturing, utilities, or a similar industrial environment.
• Strong end-to-end knowledge of the following PI System components:
  • PI Data Archive
  • PI Asset Framework (AF)
  • PI Vision
  • PI Analytics
  • Event Frames
  • PI client/server tools
• Hands-on experience with PI Web API, PI Integrator, PI Adapters, interfaces, and connectors.
• Solid understanding of industrial control systems and operational data sources, including PLC, DCS, SCADA, and industrial data historians.
• Experience with industrial communication protocols such as OPC, OPC UA, and Modbus.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills related to real-time data collection, system connectivity, data quality, and performance.
• Ability to gather business requirements and convert them into effective technical solutions and actionable operational insights.
• Excellent communication, documentation, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with global, cross-functional teams in an agile environment.
• Strong understanding of system reliability, data integrity, and operational support best practices.

Experience

• Experience with PI System Explorer, PI Builder, MQTT, and advanced PI administration tools.
• Knowledge of time-series data management, SQL, Microsoft Power BI, and Microsoft Excel.
• Scripting or application development experience using Python, PowerShell, or .NET.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and services, including Microsoft Azure, AWS, and cloud-based data platforms.
• Understanding of CI/CD practices and modern application or data integration workflows.
• Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, networking, and industrial cybersecurity.
• Previous experience supporting upstream oil and gas operations.
• AVEVA PI System accreditation or relevant certification is an advantage.
