This full-time, remote position is an opportunity for a committed professional to provide specialized mental health services to individuals who have experienced trauma, helping them navigate their recovery journey with empathy and expert care.

About the Organization

At Independence Therapy Center, we are not just a community health clinic; we are a sanctuary for healing. Located in Rockford, Illinois, we focus on outpatient mental health care with a special emphasis on treating trauma-related disorders. Our mission is to transform the lives of individuals affected by post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders, ensuring they feel supported and understood every step of the way.

Work Environment

This position offers the flexibility of remote work, allowing you to provide therapy from the comfort of your home while maintaining the quality and effectiveness of care. Our team operates in a supportive environment that encourages collaboration among professionals who share a common goal—improving mental health outcomes for our patients.

Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Mental Health Therapist at Independence Therapy Center, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting thorough trauma-informed mental health assessments to identify patients' trauma histories and tailor appropriate treatment strategies.
  • Creating and executing individualized treatment plans aimed at fostering trauma recovery and building resilience in patients.
  • Utilizing evidence-based therapeutic techniques, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to facilitate effective therapeutic outcomes.
  • Collaborating with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated and holistic care for those in your care.
  • Offering crisis intervention and support during trauma-related emergencies, ensuring safety and stability for patients in distress.
  • Educating patients and their families about trauma responses, offering coping mechanisms, and directing them to additional resources.
  • Maintaining precise and confidential patient documentation in alignment with legal and ethical guidelines.
  • Participating in case consultations and team meetings to continually enhance the quality of trauma-informed care provided.
  • Staying informed on the latest research and best practices in trauma therapy to enhance effectiveness and treatment success.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role will focus specifically on assisting trauma survivors, including individuals diagnosed with PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. You will provide a safe space for patients to explore their experiences, employ therapeutic interventions geared towards healing, and empower them to reclaim their lives.

Qualifications

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, candidates must possess:

  • A master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Illinois.
  • A comprehensive understanding of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment modalities.
  • Proficient skills in providing trauma-focused therapeutic interventions and demonstrating an empathetic, non-judgmental approach to client care.

Preferred Experience

While a minimum of two years of post-licensure experience is preferred, candidates with a strong background in trauma-focused therapies will be highly regarded. Your ability to remain composed in high-stress situations, alongside your proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems, will be crucial to effectively managing patient care.

Compensation and Benefits

This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of USD 90,000 to 110,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Along with a comprehensive healthcare benefits package, you will enjoy:

  • A retirement savings plan with employer-matching contributions.
  • Generous paid time off (PTO) and paid holiday leave.
  • Professional liability insurance coverage to support your practice.
  • Opportunities for continuing education and dedicated financial support for your professional development.
