Production Machining Operator — CNC Mills, Lathes & Press Brake

Purpose of the role

Transform detailed blueprints and specifications into finished parts that meet exacting tolerances and production schedules.

How you’ll make an impact

• Own the machining process from setup through final pass: select fixtures and tooling, align workholding, and secure materials.
• Run both manual and CNC equipment to achieve close/exact tolerances across varied dimensions and finish specs.
• Calculate and set machine parameters (speed, feed, coolant) and apply/adjust programs as needed.
• Continuously monitor operations, identify malfunctions or out-of-tolerance trends, and correct immediately.
• Maintain tooling sharpness and condition; clean machines, tooling, and parts to ensure production readiness.
• Edit programs to fine tune cycle time, surface finish, and dimensional accuracy.
• Keep your area safe and spotless; follow all shop protocols.
• Contribute wherever needed—other duties as assigned.

What success looks like

• Blueprints and routers are followed precisely, and scheduled hours are consistently met.
• Parts pass inspection with tight tolerances and required finishes.
• Machines and tools are maintained for maximum uptime and reliability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training preferred.
• Proven ability to set up and operate manual machine tools.
• Forklift and overhead crane operation; use of precision measuring instruments; basic maintenance within the machining trade.
• Blueprint literacy and clear communication (written and verbal).
• Strong math, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Organized, detail-focused, and able to manage time to meet deadlines.

• Can lift and carry up to 50 lbs occasionally; >50 lbs requires two people or a lifting device.
