Position Overview

We are seeking an Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Generalist to support environmental, health, safety, and industrial hygiene programs within a fast-paced engineering and manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting EHS compliance, occupational safety, environmental programs, industrial hygiene, ergonomics, employee training, inspections, incident investigations, and corrective actions. This position requires a self-starter who can work collaboratively with engineers, manufacturing personnel, contractors, and management while managing multiple EHS programs and projects.

  • Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP)

  • EHS Training
  • Fall Protection
  • Machine Guarding
  • Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT)
  • Hazard Communication
  • Industrial Hygiene (IH) Sampling
  • IH Equipment Maintenance
  • Ventilation
  • Radiation Safety
• Conduct environmental, health, and safety inspections.
• Support injury reduction, environmental compliance, and sustainability initiatives.
• Analyze leading and lagging safety performance indicators to identify trends and drive corrective actions.
• Serve as the EHS point of contact for assigned facilities, buildings, and safety councils.
• Lead safety teams, committees, and councils.
• Conduct first-aid and OSHA-recordable injury investigations.
• Perform root cause analysis and develop, implement, and track corrective actions.
• Lead EHS projects designed to improve employee and contractor health and safety.
• Develop and implement EHS processes, programs, procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support site EHS communications and awareness programs.
• Develop and deliver EHS training for employees and contractors.
• Interpret and apply OSHA, Cal/OSHA, EPA, NIOSH, and ANSI requirements.
• Participate in hazardous materials and medical emergency response activities.
• Support environmental and sustainability initiatives as assigned.
• Travel between local sites in Goleta and Lompoc, California, as required.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology, Industrial Hygiene, Safety Engineering, or a related field.
• 1 2+ years of relevant EHS experience in environmental compliance, occupational safety, industrial hygiene, or a related discipline.
• Knowledge and practical application of EPA, Cal/OSHA, OSHA, NIOSH, and ANSI regulations and standards.
• Knowledge of ergonomics, occupational safety, and industrial hygiene principles.
• Experience conducting EHS inspections and supporting incident/injury investigations.
• Experience performing root cause analysis and developing corrective actions.
• Ability to manage multiple EHS programs and projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work collaboratively with engineers, manufacturing employees, contractors, and management.
• Ability to travel between local work sites in Goleta and Lompoc.

Preferred Qualifications

• Approximately 3 years of experience in environmental, general safety, and industrial hygiene programs.
• CHMM certification.
• OSHA 10-Hour Construction training.
• Experience developing and delivering EHS training.
• Experience in an engineering, manufacturing, aerospace, or industrial environment.
• Master's degree in Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, Safety Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with environmental sustainability programs.
• Experience managing EHS committees, councils, and continuous improvement initiatives.
