Position: Defense Attorney - Insurance Defense Litigation Location: Houston, TX (Hybrid) Compensation: Up to $200,000 + bonus About the opportunity I'm partnering with an established Texas litigation practice to identify a talented Defense Attorney with experience in insurance defense and trucking litigation. This is an excellent opportunity to join a team handling sophisticated, high-exposure disputes involving transportation companies, personal injury claims, and complex liability matters. Key responsibilities: Manage a diverse caseload involving insurance defense, trucking accidents, personal injury, and transportation liability. Handle cases throughout the litigation lifecycle, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, negotiations, and trial preparation. Evaluate liability, damages, insurance coverage, and litigation risks to develop effective defense strategies. Work with clients, insurers, experts, and opposing counsel to advance case objectives and pursue favorable outcomes. Prepare for hearings, mediations, and trials while maintaining strong client communication and case management. Qualifications: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. Active license to practice law in Texas. Experience handling insurance defense and civil litigation matters. Prior trucking or transportation defense experience is strongly preferred. Strong analytical, writing, negotiation, and courtroom advocacy skills. Ability to manage multiple matters effectively while maintaining high-quality legal work. Salary and Other Compensation: The annual salary for this position is between $140,000 - $200,000 annually . Factors which may affect pay within this range include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
