Picture the moment a newly built HVAC/data center chiller reaches the end of the line. That’s where you step in—putting each unit through its paces to make sure it performs safely, reliably, and exactly to spec before it ships.

What your day looks like

You’ll begin by reviewing wiring diagrams and control schematics, planning your test sequence and safety setup. Next, you’ll bring the unit to life—executing a series of electrical, mechanical, and HVAC tests to validate every subsystem. When something’s off, you’ll diagnose, adjust, replace components, and document your findings so the final product is ready for the field.

Core responsibilities

• Run final functional checks and troubleshooting on completed chiller units
• Execute Hi-Pot, Megger, dry-run, energized, and performance testing
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and control system issues and drive repairs
• Adjust settings and replace components based on test results
• Work hands-on with fans, compressors, sensors, PLCs, relays, transformers, pumps, and control systems
• Record test data, defects, and corrective actions with precision
• Follow safety protocols rigorously, including Lockout/Tagout procedures

What you bring

• EPA 608 Type II, Type III, or Universal Certification (required)
• Background in HVAC, refrigeration, electrical testing, or industrial maintenance
• Fluency reading wiring diagrams; skilled with multimeters and amp clamps
• Comfort working around energized equipment and complex systems
• Exceptional attention to detail and an unwavering safety mindset

Preferred experience

• Hands-on HVAC/chiller testing background
• Hi-Pot testing exposure
• Data center cooling or industrial equipment experience
