Accounting Operations ManagerLocation: Tampa, FL (Hybrid)Oliver James is currently partnered with a growing Property & Casualty insurance carrier based in the Tampa area to identify an Accounting Operations Manager. This is a high-impact opportunity to join a well-capitalized organization that is investing in its finance infrastructure and building out scalable processes to support continued growth.This role will sit at the intersection of accounting, operations, and process improvement-ideal for someone who enjoys both managing a team and driving efficiencies across complex financial workflows.Key Responsibilities:Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger activity, close processes, and reconciliationsManage and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing leadership, development, and performance oversightDrive improvements in month-end and quarter-end close processes to ensure accuracy and timelinessPartner cross-functionally with claims, underwriting, and finance teams to streamline operational accounting workflowsSupport the development and enhancement of internal controls in compliance with regulatory and audit requirementsLead or assist with system implementations, process automation, and continuous improvement initiativesAssist with financial reporting and provide insights to senior leadership on operational performanceQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA strongly preferred)6+ years of accounting experience, with a mix of public accounting and/or insurance industry experiencePrior experience within Property & Casualty insurance is highly preferredDemonstrated experience managing or mentoring staffStrong understanding of GAAP and accounting operations within an insurance environmentProven ability to improve processes and implement scalable solutionsExcellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across departmentsWhy This Opportunity:Join a growing P&C carrier with strong leadership and a clear growth trajectoryOpportunity to make a tangible impact on processes and team developmentCollaborative, team-oriented culture with exposure to senior leadershipCompetitive compensation, bonus, and benefits package
