Histotechnician

JOB SUMMARY

Cuts, stains, mounts, and studies specimens of human tissue to provide data on functioning of tissues and organs, causes and/or progress of disease, following established standards and practices. The Histotechnician performs all procedures required to obtain slides from fixed and unfixed tissue and fluids to enable a pathologist to render a diagnosis.

Minimum Education

• High school or equivalent.
