Job Title: Shakespeare Performance Assistant (K-8) Homeschool EnrichmentLocation: Ascent HSE, 1510 E Phillips Ave, Centennial, CO 80122 FLSA Status: Non-Exempt HourlyReports to: Dean of Homeschool Work Hours/Days: Teacher Calendar, Wed/Thurs, 10:00-3:00 pm Dates: December 2026 - March 2027 Position Summary : Shakespeare Performance Assistant Job Description: Assist in the preparation and execution of the Ascent HSE annual Shakespeare production. Our 5/6th and 7/8th grade classes will prepare and rehearse for the performance in March. The assistant will attend classes and assist with rehearsal as well as assist the classroom teacher with costume, prop and material preparation for the production. Essential Functions:Classroom Support: Participate in class rehearsals. Work with small groups of students and record stage directionsCostume Management: Organize and manage all props and costuming for the showMaterial Preparation: Help produce scripts and other necessary materialsProduction: Attend all rehearsals and assist with necessary details during show weekMaintain a collegial, professional relationship with students, parents, and colleagues as a partner in the community of learnersEffectively communicate with supervisor and teammatesPerform other related duties as directedPosition Requirements:Experience working with children in a classroom, homeschool, church, or theater settingStrong communication skills and a warm, flexible attitudeAbility to stand, walk, and assist children actively throughout the day.Background check clearance (per program policy)mitment to the policies, mission, and vision of Ascent Classical Academy Charter Schools of ColoradoCommitment to high moral character necessary to sustain ordered liberty and constitutional self-governmentAbility to develop positive and professional relationships with team membersAbility to provide excellent customer service and always maintain confidentiality and professionalismPatience, reliability, and a positive attitudeWillingness to take responsibility for being on time and maintaining attendance as an essential part of job performanceWillingness to perform other related duties as assignedPhysical Requirements:Must be able to lift up to 10 poundsMust be able to traverse the classroom and adjust one's tone and height by bending or leaning in order to teach each child
