What you’ll do :
Typical tasks may include, but are not limited to, the following :
- Develop and Execute Sourcing Strategies :
- Create and implement comprehensive sourcing strategies for carrier access for wireline / wireless areas outside of the AT&T footprint to meet business goals and drive value.
- Carrier Management :
- Identify, evaluate, and manage key carrier relationships. Lead negotiations to secure optimal terms, including pricing, quality, service levels, and risk mitigation.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration :
- Partner with engineering, product, construction, and finance teams to understand requirements, align sourcing strategies, and support new product introductions or technology initiatives.
- Contract Management :
- Oversee the drafting, review, and administration of contracts to ensure compliance, performance, and risk management.
- Market Analysis :
- Monitor industry trends, market intelligence, and emerging technologies to identify sourcing opportunities and maintain a competitive edge.
- Team Leadership :
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of sourcing professionals. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and innovation.
- Cost and Performance Optimization :
- Drive initiatives to achieve cost savings, process efficiencies, and carrier performance improvements.
- Governance and Reporting :
- Develop and track network KPIs, provide regular reporting to executive leadership, and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
What you’ll need :
The Director – Technical Sourcing leads the strategy, execution, and optimization of sourcing carrier activities for technical products, services, and solutions across the organization. This role partners engineering, network and construction, and business stakeholders to deliver cost-effective, high-quality solutions from carriers that meet the evolving needs of the company. The Director drives supplier performance, manages risks, and ensures alignment with corporate objectives, while leading and mentoring a team of sourcing professionals.

Required Experience :8+ years of related experienceTechnical Career Pathway (TCP) roleRequired Qualifications :8+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role focused on technical categories.Must have extensive contract writing experience.Proven ability to develop and implement sourcing strategies in a technical environment.Strong negotiation, contract management, and carrier relationship management skills.Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.Experience leading and developing high-performing teams.Knowledge of industry trends and best practices in technical sourcing.Desired Education :Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field; master’s degree preferredDesired Qualifications :Experience with global sourcing and carrier access management.Familiarity with emerging network technologies (e.g. RAN, SDN) and financial modeling.Relevant certifications are a plus.Supervisor : Yes
