Travel Nursing Job Details Location : Chesapeake, VA 23320 (Virginia travel nursing jobs) Assignment Length : 13 weeks (Start : 11 / 17 / 2025 – End : 2 / 16 / 2026) Shift : Night shifts, 12 hours (19 : 00 – 07 : 30), 3x12 or 4x12 per week (candidate preference considered) Hours per Week : 36 or 48 (OT available after 48 hours on 4x12 schedule) Estimated Weekly Salary : $1,780 - $1,910 Setting : Intensive Care Unit (ICU); must be willing to float to Stepdown, Emergency Department (ED), or MedSurg as needed Patient Ratios : 1 : 2–3 Orientation : 16 hours ICU Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Virginia or Compact RN license in hand at time of application Minimum 1 year of recent ICU nursing experience (3 years preferred; strong candidates with less considered) Strong neuro ICU experience required (post-neurosurgical, EVD, and stroke care) Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association) NIHSS certification required EPIC charting proficiency required Must pass EKG test (80% or higher, no remediation) Willingness to float to Stepdown, ED, or MedSurg to care for ICU patients No prior license or background issues (strict policy) Must reside at least 50 miles from facility (local candidates not accepted) Flu vaccine required (medical / religious exemptions allowed) ICU Nurse Responsibilities Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit Manage complex neuro ICU cases, including post-neurosurgical, EVD, and stroke patients Perform ventilator management, IV drip titration, telemetry monitoring, and conscious sedation Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and respond to medical emergencies Float to Stepdown, Emergency Department, or MedSurg as needed to support ICU-level patients Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and physical therapy Document patient care accurately and efficiently using EPIC electronic health records Care for a diverse patient population including neurosurgical, respiratory failure, renal failure, trauma, sepsis, heart failure, and post-cardiac cath patients Experience the best of Chesapeake, Virginia, while making a difference in critical care.
