Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Pediatric Emergency Department RN with a current CA RN license, ACLS, BLS, MAB, and PALS certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a Level I trauma center in the Pediatric Emergency Department
  • Patient population includes children and young adults up to 25 years old
  • High-volume ED with seasonal increases, particularly in winter
  • Variable 12-hour shifts with start times at 0700, 1100, 1400, or 1900
  • Shift schedule includes both day and night shifts, with weekend shifts required
  • No on-call or float requirements
  • Three designated triage areas and one fast track area
  • ED tech support available for every nurse and in triage
  • Responsible for managing care in a busy, high-acuity Pediatric Emergency setting
  • Must be able to run codes internally as part of core responsibilities
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • A maximum of 7 days RTO may be allowed, but none in the first week of assignment
  • Supplemental required modules are completed during orientation
  • A team environment utilizes strong support from ED techs
  • Holiday and weekend coverage is required as part of this role
  • Travelers are not required to float for this assignment
  • Requirements

  • Active CA RN license required at time of consideration
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department RN experience required; Pediatric ED experience preferred
  • Certifications required : ACLS, BLS, MAB, and PALS
  • Must provide two supervisor-level references from the relevant unit within the past year or from the most recent employer
  • Not eligible if residing within 50 miles of the facility
  • Return staff must have been separated for at least one year before re-applying
