Overview

Cobalt Regional Sales Representative - Eastern

Department : Sales

  • Reports To : Department Supervisor
  • FLSA Status : Salary

Responsibilities

  • Communicate regularly with dealers in the region to provide support, obtain an understanding of their business, train and provide suggestions with the goal of increasing sales.
  • Communicate regularly with the manufacturing facility to obtain product updates, provide field feedback, etc.
  • Prepare and submit required reports in a timely manner.
  • Develop territory by establishing dealers in open areas; replace dealers where needed; provide training / support to dealers where needed.
  • Train dealers on product knowledge, features / benefits, competitive analysis, salesmanship, and any other information that will help with sales.
  • Assist with dealer promotions providing ideas, tools, and manpower when applicable.
  • Gain full knowledge of dealer operations including flooring company, amount and availability; current dealer inventory; production allocations and related information.
  • Work within budgeted guidelines.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • Qualifications

    Education and / or Experience : At least five years sales experience, preferably in the marine industry; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Language Skills : Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business materials; ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; ability to present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Mathematical Skills : Ability to perform calculations and interpret data; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to interpret graphs.
  • Reasoning Ability : Ability to solve practical problems and interpret various instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Technical Ability : Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); familiarity with web and social media site navigation.
  • Other Qualifications : Include certificates, licenses, registrations, and other relevant qualifications; Valid driver's license required.
  • Physical Demands

  • Sits up to 2 hours; stands up to 2 hours; walks up to 2 hours; drives up to 2 hours.
  • Employee Lifts and / or Carries : Maximum 50 lbs; Frequent 10 lbs; Occasionally 50 lbs.
  • Repetitive Activities : Simple Grasping; Pushing / Pulling; Fine Manipulation (as detailed).
  • Feet for Repetitive Activities : Right / Left - None.
  • Physical activities : Bending at waist, squatting, climbing ladders / stairs, kneeling, reaching above shoulder (Occasional).
  • Work Environment

    Frequent travel required; outdoor conditions; follow task-specific safety procedures; typical 8-hour workdays with frequent overtime; travel and environmental conditions may apply.
