About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse (RN)

Profession : Nursing

Specialty : NICU

Duration : 12 weeks

Shift : Night

Hours per Shift : 12 hours (7 : 00 PM - 7 : 30 AM)

Experience : Minimum of 3 years of experience in NICU at a Level 3 facility or higher

License : State RN License in good standing

Certifications :

  • BLS (American Heart Association)
  • NRP (American Heart Association)

Must-Have :

  • Minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience
  • Description :

    The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time frame.

    The RN provides care to patients utilizing the nursing process, nursing trends, technology, financial, and human resources within the philosophy of the institution.

    Performs all responsibilities and duties required by unit as specific to the scope of service.

    Implements procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice.

    Maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to ensure the integration of information for use by the healthcare team.

    Completes initial assessment upon patient admission and develops an appropriate plan of care according to unit standards based on patient and family needs.

    Implements plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures.

    Modifies plan of care based on continuous evaluation.

    Takes responsibility for patient and employee safety by reporting and / or correcting safety hazards and incidents.

    Communicates with others directly and privately when necessary to resolve issues.

    Offers constructive feedback to assist in the professional development of peers, and confers with colleagues to expand knowledge base.

    Identifies own learning needs and takes initiative to begin appropriate solutions.

    Fulfills all requirements of departmental competencies.

    Monitors intake and output of neonatal patient assignment.

    Assists mothers with breastfeeding initiation and baby-friendly care.

    Administers medications using proper barcode scanning.

    Reports on patient assignment during multidisciplinary rounds.
