Description :
The Fire Alarm and Security System Technician is responsible for troubleshooting low voltage Fire Alarm and Security Systems and resolving any problems.
This position requires a thorough understanding of fire alarm and security products, supporting software, and electrical systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Installation, Service, and Inspections of Fire Alarms and associated systems.
- Completion of all necessary paperwork associated with service and inspections.
- Communicate with customer before and after any call to explain work performed.
- Ensure timely job completion.
- Daily communications with Project Manager and / or Schedule Coordinator on inspection or project delays, requirements and general status of job.
- Take turns in On-Call rotation.
- May Mentor Fire and / or Security technicians on tools and technology.

Additional Skills & Qualifications :
- Familiarity with NFPA 72, Florida Fire Prevention Code, and local building codes.
- Minimum 2 years’ field experience in inspection, repair, and installation of fire alarm and security system systems.
- Extensive knowledge of low voltage systems.
- Experience working with Fire-Lite and Notifier brands of equipment.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Proficient in the use of computers and smart phones, specifically Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Apple iOS, and Google Android.
- High Level of Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving Skills.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills required.
- Organized, motivated, and able to work with minimum supervision.
