CONSTRUCTION MANAGER

Minneapolis, MN or Midwest

Taco John's International is looking for a full-time Construction Manager to oversee all phases of construction, remodels, and development projects for company and franchise locations. This position is responsible for tracking all new construction and major renovation projects, including project costs and schedules to achieve the budget and timeline.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CONSTRUCTION MANAGER

In this Construction Manager position, you develop and define project purpose, scope of work and materials necessary to complete each project. You will assist in the management of the construction process for all new stores, including corporate and franchisee locations, relocations, transfers, and remodels. With extensive knowledge of construction management, you will consult with Franchisees on design, construction, and related documents to ensure compliance with Taco John’s standards as well as restaurant industry standards. With great attention to detail, you will mitigate risk through assessment of performed work, assuring compliance with quality, scope, and design requirements. As the Construction Manager, you will review and approve all store layouts, signage, and branding elements. When unexpected complications or issues arise, you will use your adept problem-solving skills to make quick and necessary adjustments to keep the project moving. You will ensure safety standards and guidelines are followed on the jobsite, and that all safety codes are met during construction. You have a willingness to take on additional responsibilities as needed to support the team's success.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A CONSTRUCTION MANAGER

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred; equivalent work experience considered.
• 5+ years of experience in construction management, preferably within the restaurant, hospitality, or retail industry.
• Proven experience managing multiple construction projects across multiple markets.
• Strong project management skills with knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, budgeting, and contract management.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Able to read, analyze and interpret architectural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing plans, common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents
• Ability to travel up to 50% to project sites.
• Proficient with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Procore, Smartsheet) and MS Office Suite.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Valid Driver’s license.
