This is a rare opportunity to be the primary technical leader behind a high-visibility initiative that is crucial to Capital One’s long-term risk management vision. As the foremost engineer, you will directly report to the Senior Director, taking the helm as the technical authority for Core Compliance. Your role will involve leading a significant transformation from traditional spot-checking methods to a cutting-edge, continuous monitoring ecosystem for our internal operations. You will work closely with the engineering manager and the team tasked with delivering these solutions, providing essential technical guidance to navigate their most intricate challenges.

Furthermore, you will be pivotal in the practical integration of Generative AI within our operations. This team has already launched Capital One’s first production-level GenAI applications, with many more eagerly anticipated. You won’t just oversee these initiatives; you will actively drive our progress, establishing a blueprint for effectively leveraging these groundbreaking technologies to address pressing business issues.

As a top-tier software engineer, your contributions will involve leading from the front, emphasizing robust technical execution to tackle our most complex problems. You will engage in hands-on tasks, including coding, prototyping, and designing our critical systems—alternating between spearheading projects from conception to deployment and diving in wherever there’s a need to bring projects to completion. A significant part of your role will entail collaborating with leadership to shape and advance our technical strategy for GenAI, focusing on its effective implementation. You will leverage your extensive knowledge of AWS and our internal infrastructure to drive enhancements in our tooling and delivery efficiency. Throughout all these endeavors, you will serve as a role model and mentor, deeply investing in the growth of your fellow engineers and championing our cultural values.

Basic Qualifications :

Bachelor's Degree.

At least 7 years of experience in application architecture and design patterns.

At least 5 years of experience with architectural patterns (SOA), building APIs, microservices, event streams, and high-throughput systems.

Preferred Qualifications :

Master's Degree in Computer Science or a Master's Degree in Software Engineering.

10+ years of experience collaborating with business leaders on architectural decision implications.

4+ years of experience building cloud-native architectures and architecting enterprise applications on public cloud platforms.

5+ years of experience with DevOps or DevSecOps and constructing CI / CD pipelines using modern tools.

12+ years of experience in software engineering, focusing on the design and implementation of enterprise-level systems.

10+ years of experience with enterprise architecture, software architecture, and design patterns.

3+ years of experience in cloud computing.

Strong expertise in modern programming languages and data processing frameworks.

3+ years of experience in Data strategy, AI, and ML Technologies.

AWS Solution Architect certification (Professional or Associate).
