PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Repairs, rebuilds, adjusts, inspects and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operating manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications,
  • Identifies, troubleshoots and repairs breakdowns and problems and completes required paperwork.
  • Performs scheduled Preventive Maintenance on all equipment, machinery and facilities per guidelines and completes required forms and paperwork.
  • Inspects parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements using calipers, height gage, micrometers and other measuring instruments.
  • Installs, sets up and removes equipment as required.
  • Responsible for adherence to all safety procedures, good housekeeping standards, and the wearing of PPE.
  • Overtime as required.

EDUCATION & SKILLS

  • Must have completed an apprenticeship in a mechanical trade that meets GEP requirements or have a diploma or certification from an approved program or school.
  • Journeyman’s Card from an accredited apprenticeship program .
  • Toolmaker background a plus.
  • Ability to read and understand schematics, diagrams, and specifications.
  • Ability to perform dimensional layout.
  • Ability to perform gage calibration.
  • Ability to operate a lift truck and various types of mobile elevating work platforms (boom lift, scissor lift, etc.)
  • Ability to receive and follow instructions and communicate with co-workers.
  • Attention to detail and alert to ensure safety.
  • PHYSICAL EFFORTS

  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear in an industrial environment.
  • Frequent climbing, walking, kneeling, reaching, and standing in indoor and outdoor industrial environments.
  • Occasional exposure to weather, wet / humid environment, and noise.
  • The employee must be able to lift and / or move objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Physical Location : This position operates in a manufacturing plant environment.
  • Teamwork : This position will work with others to ensure efficiency in the workplace.
  • Listening Skills : This position will need to understand how to use machinery properly and safely to prevent accidents and ensure all tasks are completed accurately.
  • Ability to follow instructions : Managers assign tasks and responsibilities; this position should be able to follow instructions competently.
